I have a large range of Data in a pivot table, and I sometimes have to swap years or year ranges in and out of the "Data Area" and they automatically default to count. I was wondering if there's a way to change the default to sum?

Thank you.

Select a hidden cell
Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.
Unfortunately, it is in the nature of 'defaults' that the answer is 'no' (or at least I'm not aware of any technique to do it)
