I currently have 2 pivot tables linked to the same base data .
The problem:-

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).

When I do that in 2003 with 2 pivots based off the same data, the grouping in one affects the grouping in the other, which is what I would expect. That's assuming I group the fields as opposed to grouping the entire rows.

I'm having the same problem too, but I need a workaround to stop this behaviour. I have a bank statement in a table of data, following transactions in and out of a bank account. From that table I need to be able to summarise the data into both monthly and daily quantities, to produce different charts. I have used the table as the basis for two PivotTables.

In one PivotTable, I have grouped them into monthly summaries, and in another I need them broken down by day. When I group one, it groups the other. I've tried inserting a new PivotTable but they are still linked. Is there a way of unlinking the two?

Any help is much appreciated.
