I've created a pivot table "tool" for a group of business partners who frequently use the tool and refresh the data. In using the tool, the users have to use the drop downs on the row fields to filter for thier population of interest. Here, populations can be thought of as a line of business represented by 4 letter code (ie. AFED). Ideally, if a user refreshed the data with a different population of raw data, the values in the drop down would update in accord. In other words, if I updated my AFED peopel in the raw data with people in FSOB, then only FSOB would appear in my row field filter. In actuality, the new Line of Business (FSOB) is added to the drop down values, but the old Line of Business values remain (AFED). It's as if the table is automatically archiving any value that has ever in that field, even if it's not present in an update. is there a way to stop the table from archiving these values?

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
