Places after decimal

I should know this by now but I can't figure it out. How do I limit the number of digits after the decimal point? Here's an example:

Cell C8 shows 12.49 BUT the formula bar shows it as 12.496785543. Problem is, when I use the data in cell C8 somewhere else I expect it to be used as 12.49 but I get 12.496785543.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
