I'm looking to streamline our works system of distributing the monthly rota for a number of reasons. The current system sees just around 80 employees listed alphabetically across 4 or 5 pages. Beside the names the days of the month are spread out, with a 1 denoting a shift on that day.

The rota is sometimes misinterpreted because of the sheer volume of information on it. More of a problem is the half a tree all 80 folk walk away with every month.

Could the rota be issued in such a way that we feed the name of the person into the computer, and it generates maybe two pages at best of the information exclusive to that employee for the month ahead?

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
sounds reasonable but without seeing the spreadsheet or at least how it is laid out we would not know where to start.
