Please help this Newbie to copy certain Text

Please help

I have the following data field

HX -2894 _STA
XAS -2491B
AT -2891B1

What I need is to make 2 seperate column
First column will take just the HX, XAS, AT part
Second column will take just 2894, 2491B, and 2891B1

Can someone please help me on what to do with this?

Try:

=TRIM(LEFT(A1,FIND("-",A1)-1))

For the left part and

=TRIM(RIGHT(A1,LEN(A1)-FIND("-",A1)))

What if I want to trim a bit further

to 2492A1

=LEFT(TRIM(RIGHT(A1,LEN(A1)-FIND("-",A1))),4)
