I am currently building a large number of regression models and am trying to calculate the quality of the correlation (r2). For checking linear trends I have used the "Pearson" function, my question is, is there an equivalent to calculate the regression coefficient for polynomial trends. I am loathed to use xy scatter charts to calculate this as I would have well over 1800 charts to make.

Welcome to the board

You can use the Linest() function to get the stats on a regression. Check the help. The R2 is the first value in the third row.

For example, to get the R2 from a 3rd degree polynomial trend, try:

=INDEX(LINEST(YValues,XValues^{1,2,3},TRUE,TRUE),3,1)

in the videos 620-621- and 622 mrexcel is so clear because he shows x values like A1:A5, also shows where is Y's values and here my question is what is 1.2.3 and what or where is 3,1. sorry I don't understand, maybe if I see a spreadsheet example, would be so good. can you. please. the linear and average mrexcel explained already so I am missing the others.
