Let's say we have two portfolios: Growth and Income. Growth and Income use some of the same funds, as in A3 through D7 in the table below.

And let's say we have two clients, each with some mix of the two portfolios. In the example below, for instance, Jane Doe will invest 80% in the 'Growth' portfolio and 20% in the 'Income' portfolio and both portfolios have an allocation to the fund 'IVV'. John Smith has a different mix.

To calculate an allocation (by fund) for each client we need an overall portfolio value and the weight of each fund in the final mix. Fine, I did this pretty easily with Index/Match. For example, the formula in G10 is: =G$5*INDEX(WEIGHTS,MATCH($F10,TICKERS,0),MATCH(F$5,MODEL_NAMES,0))+G$6*INDEX(WEIGHTS,MATCH($F10,TICKERS,0),MATCH(F$6,MODEL_NAMES,0)), and then in H10 we multiply this percentage by the portfolio value.

So in row 9 we have Ticker, Target %, and Target $ with the funds and weights below. Then we start investing the cash for each client somewhat opportunistically, such that we may shift money from 'Cash' into the securities in a lumpy manner. Let's say after a week of investing for our new clients Jane and John we end up with actual allocations to the securities as indicated in I10-I14 (for Jane) and N10-14 for John.

My question is, what formulas should I put in I5-I6 and N5-N6 in order to determine how much of each of the two portfolios has been implemented?

Thank you for your help.

Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
