Hi All

May I ask the board if they would be kind enough to help me out with the attached sheet. Below is also a summary of the required help written within the attached sheet. Many thanks in advance.

Kind Regards

PS My version of excel shows the date formatted as below and not as shown in the attached - my apologies I do hope that does not complicate matters - 27/08/2011 17:10

Hi Robert Mika

The date in sheet two has other data connected to it that does not appear in sheet one. Thus if I can identify the date in sheet two and pull in the course connnected with that date from sheet one and place the course (which is the required data) in sheet three then mission is accomplished.

Kind Regards

So your example (Sheet2) is incomplite and there is more data in Columns B?C?
Or if your lookup value is Newmarket and you need to bring to Sheet3 data associates with it(C2 to I2) I still do not see the point to look at the course date,

Hi Robert Mika

Yes sheet two is incomplete as the data is not relevant to the problem. I require to identify the date in sheet two and match it with the date in sheet one which has Newmarket in the row and is associated. Once the date has been identified I then require the identification match to pull through to sheet three the course in this case Newmarket. The course is only matched with the date in sheet one.

So we are looking at the date in Sheet1 to see in which row it is in Column A in Sheet2 and we need to extract data from corresponfing row Sheet1?
Is that what you after?

So if the lookup value was 9/20/11 14:50 we need data from row 12 in Sheet1?

Hi Robert Mika

Apologies if I am causing confusion.

I want to find if the date in sheet two row A2 is in sheet one anywhere in row A2 to I4.

If it is then I want to extract the course associated with that date within the row A2 to I4 and place it in sheet three A2. I trust that is a little clearer.

Kind Regards

No worries, we get there....
Firstly not row A2 but but row 2 or Column A
Secondly could the date by anywwhre on the row 2 in range A2 to I2?
If it was in let say F2 you still want to bring to Sheet2 the whole row?
If the date is not there are you looking for the next date in column A Sheet2?
