Hi
I have hundreds of different district postcodes and need to a formula to return only the first part of the postcode.
For example: NW8 7AF - would need to be NW8
AL12 5EF - would need to be AL12
C2 3WE - would need to be C2

Does anybody know a formula that can achieve this?

Many Thanks

Try this...

A1 = NW8 7AF

=LEFT(A1,FIND(" ",A1)-1)
