Hi,
I am trying to set up a formula in a recipe where ingredients are measured by weight. Most things are measured in pounds, but where there are amounts less than one, i would like the remainder to show up as ounces or grams. example below:

Should the Grams just be the decimal fraction of the Ounces?
So that you end up with a column of whole Pounds, a column of whole Ounces & a column of Grams.

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
I would like anything under one pound to appear as grams only.
So that I end up with a column of whole pounds, a column of whole ounces, and a column of grams as you said

sorry I spoke to soon, can you spot the error in my formula? i want the grams calculated (using 453.6 grams per pound) only if the reference amount is less than 1. if it is greater than 1 I want the cell blank.

=IF(B9<1,[(B9-INT(B9))*453.6],[""])
