I have a series of Power Query queries which connect to excel workbooks to load then manipulate and merge data. Its running across VPN to a network drive using excel 2016. When I refresh queries it takes 2 minutes. When others refresh the queries Excel sits at the connecting to data source stage for a very long time and the refresh take up to 30 minutes. Our machines are identical . I've set the privacy level to Always ignore Privacy settings and there is still no improvement. Can anyone suggest any possible reason for the long data source connection time ?
