I am attempting to connect via ODBC to a day old copy of our production Oracle E-Business Suite general ledger database tables. (Using Excel 2013, Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013)

I receive the following error message when I attempt to actually extract the information. I can see the various tables. But I receive the error message when attempting to extract data.

The error below appears highlighted in yellow.

DataSource.Error.ODBC” ERROR [07006][Oracle][ODBC]Restricted
Details:
DataSourceKind=ODBC
DataSourcePath=dsn=RPT
ODBCErrors=Table

And the following error message appears directly below the table I attempt to connect to –

!ODBC: ERROR [07006][Oracle][ODBC]Restricted data type attribute violation

Is this related to?
1. User error? I am attempting to connect incorrectly?
2. Additional software is needed on my PC to connect? (I know this is the case for when I use Bethnic > Golden scripts to connect to the same database.)
3. Internal security issue? IT needs to configure my PC differently?
4. Other?

Thanks,
Bob
