Powerpoint Web Browser

I have an ActiveX Control Web Browser imbedded in an Excel workbook that shows an HTML chart that I have created. When I put the same web-browser in Powerpoint, I can only actually see and interact with my my HTML file when in SlideShow mode. I really would like the web-browser to display in the normal mode so that I and other users can see the data displayed as we build the other pieces of the slide. Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this?
