I have a spreadsheet that I use as a data dump to run formulas off of and the formulas are dependent on it. The spreadsheet crashes Excel every time I try to open it!!

It's only a 2,825 KB spreadsheet so I am at a total loss as to why it won't open.

I need this to do my reporting.

ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
Are there any macros to the workbook? If so, you can hold {Shift} while opening the document to disable.

You may also look to see if there are any shapes within any of the sheets. (Our company has a reporting system that will insert a triangle to new reports that will sometimes crash things)

Plan C: Copy the data on each sheet of the document to a new workbook.

Thank you. I was able to get it open with the shift key.

Now the macros are disabled but I need this report (by name given the other spreadsheets that feed from it) and I have to run the macro assigned.

Not sure what to do....

Thank you!

I figured it out.

I had to do some maneuvering but I got it.

I uploaded it to dropbox from my desktop. Then I downloaded it from dropbox to my desktop as a version 2. Then I opened that version blocking the macros. Then I saved as again to my desktop. I opened it allowing for macros. I moved the original version to a flash drive (just in case) and changed the new version name to the original. All spreadsheets are feeding properly and I'm back in business!

Thanks for the shift-key tip!!
