Prevent cells being dragged on protected sheet

Hi all,

I've searched and searched to no avail for the answer - I'm sure others must have had a similar issue in the past but anyway here goes...

I have a protected worksheet used to calculate employee costs in the business. The managers put in their employee data in some unlocked cells and the calculation of the total cost occurs in a locked area to the right based on certain criteria.

However I come across error message "#REF!" in the calculation if the manager has moved some data to another row.

I can protect against rows being inserted and deleted, but can I prevent data being dragged in this way?

Thanks in advance

Bob

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN

That line goes in what ever routine or module where you want the drag/drop disabled.
A matching line, setting the property to True, would be used to turn it on again.

If you want it as a permenant feature of the sheet or workbook, set the Excel>Options.
