Hi all,

I have a subform that includes a date stamp field - default value is =Now(). Whenever anyone creates a new row and enters data, a new blank row is created below the row in to which they are entering data, with a time stamp.

Can anyone please explain how to prevent this happening i.e. people can enter data but no new blank row is automatically inserted below?

Many thanks

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
The Sub-Form is enabled with Allow Additions, so that you can add data into it. The blank row appearing below the current record is never saved as a record before you enter any data into it manually or through the control of a program.

If you need only Editing the existing records then you may set the Sub-Form's Allow Additions property value to No.

But, this can be controlled through VBA programs for enabling/disabling at will. If you want to explore this aspect find the details from this Link: Double-Action Command Button.

I have a similar sounding problem. I have a table in which I fill in log information, the Datime field set to =now(), is the beginning time of whatever activity is described in other fields. When I enter any data into a record, a new record is formed and the time is set. This is a problem because that next line is supposed to be for the next activity which may be even hours away from beginning. Anyone know a way to have the date and time appear only when there is data entry into the same line?
My I give my thanks in advance, David
