Previous Calender QTD Question

Given a particular date (A1)= 02/28/09 is their a formula which can calculate the previous
calander quarter end (B1)=12/31/08?

more examples (A1) = 04/30/09 (B1) = 03/31/09
(A1) = 05/31/09 (B1) = 03/31/09

I think I have figured it out

For QtD:

=EOMONTH(B3,C5)

Where B3 is the current date and C5 is the following

=TRUNC((MONTH(B3)-1)/3)*3 - MONTH(B3)

Where B3 is the current date.

You could use a single formula

=EOMONTH(B3,-MOD(MONTH(B3)-1,3)-1)
