Afternoon,

I have a pricelist that i want to print out, however it's only 3 columns wide (and 14,000 parts long)and would waste half a page of a4 paper. Is there some way I can run the info to the bottom of the page and then continue it across to the top of the same page ? And continue after that ?

If anyone can help it would be appreciated, I just want to half the paper I use.

Thankyou.

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Open Word. Hit Format-->Columns, choose 2 or 3 or whatever.

Then copy/paste into Word or you could mail merge into a Word table with same 3 columns:
http://www.officearticles.com/word/mail_merge_letters_in_microsoft_word.htm

Your fields, before you merge to new document should be:

1st record:
<col 1> <col 2> <col3>

all subsequent records:
<next record> <col 1> <col 2> <col3>

If you use mail merge, you can use it every time you update your price list. If you have trouble with the mail merge, send me a sample of your data file to:

hmmmmmm thanks for the tip, I have tried this but with 14,500 rows and 3 columns, Good Ol word just falls over with the task. I am using Office XP, and my Computer is only 6 months old (512m of ram). I will try to mail merge it in and see if that works. I thought if I did it within Excel I would have a better chance of it working.

Thanks

Hi anne,

I tried what you said in smaller chunks and it worked fine. Maybe I need more ram to do the complete task.

Thankyou for your help and all who was involved in this advice.

LOL! Sorry, spawn. I didn't realize that some of the text I put into my message to you regarding mail merge split the message page.
