Both machines have Windows 7, Firefox, and MS Office Home and Business 2010 loaded on them.

My husband’s machine has Norton internet Security 2011, Malwarebytes, Skype, and Blackberry software.

My machine had Norton Antivirus but changed to Kaspersky 2011 after a Trojan mishap. I experienced the same Excel problems with both antivirus programs.

I have rebuilt my machine 3 times in attempts to fix an Excel problem that has never replicated on my husband’s machine, probably because he rarely uses Excel.

I never had this Excel problem in Windows 2000 or XP.

I rely very heavily on Excel for everything, and I frequently embed charts and images into spreadsheets.

Excel will function correctly for 2-4 weeks after a rebuild and then the “move or copy sheet” option malfunctions. The embedded charts and images disappear when the sheet is moved to a new workbook or copied as a new sheet within a workbook.

A workbook that malfunctions on my machine will not malfunction on my husband’s machine.

Can anyone else reproduce this bug to prove it’s a bug?

Is it possible to notify Microsoft of an Excel bug? I can’t gain access to the fortress.

This may not be the answer, but is worth a try. Try putting "DoEvents" before and after the troublesome area of code:

DoEvents

As I understand it, this one line of code basically halts any following code until all previous code calculations, procedures etc catch up.

In other words you may have drastically improved your system speed with Windows 7 over XP and things are now happening "too fast" sometimes before other areas catch up, so it crashes, disappears etc.

Might have to play around with where to put "DoEvents" but having an extra one here and there I do not think will slow your program down noticeably.

Someone else here had a similar problem when he had an Excel 2007 program running OK, but did not work OK with Excel 2010. DoEvents fixed his situation.
