Hey, I've got a data sheet with around 26 colums and 30,000 rows, when i ask for the max number in one of the colums it gives me 3.4400E+00 every time, but i sorted the colums in ascending order and that value isn't in one of the colums. largest value is on the order of .5
any help would be greatly appreciated. You may email me directly

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Are you referencing the entire column in your MAX function [e.g., =MAX(C:C)]? If so, are you sure that your inordinately large value doesn't reside on a row beyond your 30,000 sorted rows (separated by one or more empty rows)?

Nah, max(A14:A29000) or something similar, no gaps in the rows as near as i can tell

So, if you select cell A14 and choose the Edit | Go To... [Special...] menu command's "Current region" option row 29000 is included in the selection?
