I use Excel 2013 and am having difficulty with a date formula.

I put this formula =COUNTIFS(Appointment_Date,">="&$G$2) into a cell. In the fx dialog box it returned a value of 640 however on the spreadsheet it shows a value of 0. Is someone able to suggest a way to fix this please.

Kind Regards

Excel Facts

Select a hidden cell
Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.
Can you post some sample data from Appointment_Date please? What range does that name refer to by the way?

Thanks for responding so quickly Ben. The data is on a different sheet than the calculation. There are 790 entries covering a period of three months. I need to create a formula that selects out the records in 28 day increments.

Is the date format on your PC setup as D/M/YYYY? What is the result if you enter this formula into B2: =N(A2)

Referencing the date on your list that reads 30/07/14.

The formula you posted works fine for me
Check the syntax of Appointment_date as well as the formatting of G2 and the named range, as Ben suggested !

Thank you both very much. I am in a remote location at the moment and have limited web access. Will let you know the result.

Kind Regards
