Problem with dynamic range

I am trying to name two dynamic ranges to be used to create a dynamic chart.

I'm attempting to create the range names:
XValues in cell B13:
=OFFSET('Sheet3'!$B$5,COUNTA('Sheet3'!$C:$C)-'Sheet3'!$E$1,0,'Sheet3'!$E$1,1)
YValues in cell B14:
=OFFSET('Sheet3'!XValues,0,1)

The XValues range works fine.
When I enter the YValues OFFSET formula in the formula bar Excel replaces the name of the worksheet with the name of my workbook and the cell returns a value of 0. Any idea what I may be doing wrong?

Why aren't you assigning your OFFSET functions to defined name ranges instead of a cell reference?

I was following the example spreadsheet I downloaded from Tushar's website. His 'Last So Many' example uses cell references in the 'Refers To:' when defining the range names. After I eliminated references to cells and entered the OFFSET directly in the 'Refers To:' the YValues range worked correctly.
Strangely, Tushar's spreadsheet example using cell references worked also! But when I used them in mine it didn't. ?
