Problem with Pasting

I have been trying to copy/paste data from a screen to excel and I am getting mixed results. The data I am copying is in a table-like format. Some of the data copies perfectly fine into the cells. The rest copies into a form-like field over the cells. This is not helpful, as I cannot sort the data since it is not actually in the cell. Is there a quick way to have excel remove the data from these form fields and transfer it to the appropriate cells? Also, deleting the form fields would be nice. Another problem is that aside from editing the values in the fields, I cannot actually select the field itself (so I can't just click on it and delete it).
