The following macro works fine, except that I have to click OK two times to close the msg box, can anyone say why this is so?
This is the script:

Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)

If Range("ax84").Value = "" Then

MsgBox "Please enter your reason before continuing."

End If

End Sub

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying

Hi Novice,

The code as is it should only execute once when a cell on your worksheet is manually edited. The reason it is running twice is probably simply that the MsgBox prompt tells the user to enter a reason before continuing. So I assume the user clicks OK and enters a reason into a cell other than AX84. Since this entry changes the worksheet again it triggers the Change event again and the message pops up again. If you want the Change event to ignore this second entry your code should test for it. Since you didn't mention what you were trying to accomplish I can't recommend code to do this, but hopefully the explanation above will help.
