Problems doing a vlookup with imported numbers from text file

I have imported some data which includes numerical data from a text file.

I need to do a vlookup using the numerical data, but so far all my efforts have failed. I have tried changing the text data into numbers by formatting, but still no luck. The bizarre thing is if I do a lookup using just one of the numbers, then that works, but not for the whole range of numbers.

I have tried to click into an empty cell, highlight my numerical data and paste but this isn't working either -

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks....

Welcome to the Board!

It sounds like you numbers may have imported as Text. Changing the format after the fact is not enough to convert them back to numbers. The values need to be "re-entered" to correct them.

It is easier than it sounds, and you can do whole column at once.
Just highlight the column, go to the Data menu, select "Text to Columns", and click the "Finish" button.
That should correct them.
