I'm using excel for mac 2011. There's a bug that tends to crop up rather often, I would say once a day. I've got quite a lot of data, maybe 5 sheets, and in one sheet I have 4000 rows full in about 7 columns. I try to keep the formulas down to a minimum because i think that's what bogs excel down. right now i have maybe 200 cells with formulas in them and that's the minimum allowed. i've already gone through and cut and pasted the formulas into values.

here's the bug, whenever i insert or delete a column, sometimes that will cause excel to freeze for about 10 minutes (i'd say that happens about 1 in 5 times). if you're patient, everything will be ok eventually but it is still a real nuissance.

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
I'm not sure if it's available in the MAC version, but in the Windows version if you restart the Office Installation procedure you should have an option to Fix & Repair. I'd imagine it's there for MAC as well.

Let me go check with a MAC user I know.
