Good evening,
I finally was able to get my database to sort in ascending order by using command buttons all while the sheets are protected. My current VBA has a line to refresh the pivot tables, but unfortunately it doesn't work.

For some reason my refresh line is not being recognized in my code, everything else is spot on. Thank you,

VBA Code:
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim xlSort As XlSortOrder
Dim LastRow As Long
With Sheets("Air Outbound")
.Unprotect Password:="mozzer"
LastRow = .Cells(.Rows.Count, "A").End(xlUp).Row
.Range("A1") = "Date"
.Columns("A:I").Sort key1:=.Range("A2"), order1:=xlAscending, Header:=xlYes
ActiveWorkbook.RefreshAll
.Protect Password:="mozzer", AllowFormattingColumns:=True, AllowInsertingHyperlinks:=True, AllowDeletingRows:=True

End With
End Sub

Are you able to refresh the pivot table directly with this? (where SheetName is the worksheet the pivot table is in)
VBA Code:
ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("SheetName").PivotTables("PivotTableName").PivotCache.Refresh
