Is there anyway to have excel automatically fill-in a series of cells with the alphabet instead of numbers without using a custom list?

thx in advance

Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.

You would have to write a macro. A custom list is far simpler and friendly.
