prompt for input upon opening a workbook

Help,
Is there a way to have an InputBox automatically
prompt for a date value when an Excel workbook is open.

I want this to occur when a workbook is first open and without having to run any code beforehand and without having to click on any command buttons.

Try adding this to the ThisWorkbook code module: -

Private Sub Workbook_Open()
Dim myDate As String

Do
    myDate = InputBox("Please enter a date")
    If IsDate(myDate) Then Exit Do
    MsgBox "No, a date please"
Loop
' do stuff with your date entry here

End Sub
