protect multiple cells in single sheet

hi,

i have a problem for protecting different cols. in same sheet.please tell me how to protect different cells or cols. in same sheet.

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.

Select the cells and check Locked on the Protection tab of the Format cells dialog. For the locking to take effect you will need to protect the worksheet. Before doing so you should also unlock any cells that you don't want to protect.
