I would like to Protect cell from selection except with a mouse double click event. I would also require to return the cell address and value.
I do not need to do anything else with the cell. there will be multiple cell like this

Any suggestions

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
Protect the sheet. Uncheck "Select locked cells." Set a password. Then use this macro:
VBA Code:
Private Sub Worksheet_BeforeDoubleClick(ByVal Target As Range, Cancel As Boolean)
  ActiveSheet.Unprotect "password"
  Target.Locked = False
  Target.Select
  MsgBox Target.Address & ": " & Target.Value
  Target.Locked = True
  ActiveSheet.Protect "password"
End Sub
Or you can try a shorter code if you don't want to select the cell:
VBA Code:
Private Sub Worksheet_BeforeDoubleClick(ByVal Target As Range, Cancel As Boolean)
  MsgBox Target.Address & ": " & Target.Value
End Sub
