I have protected a worksheet on which i have inserted a commentary box. I see that the commentary box can be edited and worst can be deleted by the user , which i do not want him/her to do . How can I achieve this?

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
What version of Excel are you using?

Try this ..

1. With your sheet unprotected, right click the border of the Text Box and choose
Size & Properties...|Properties tab|ensure 'Locked' and 'Lock Text' are checked|Close

2. When you protect the sheet, ensure that you do NOT check 'Edit Objects' in the list "Allow all users ..."

In that case try just point 2 of my previous post. Does that not achieve your goal?
