I've been tryig to protect 3 columns in a key control spreadsheet that other people are also required to update (in Sharepoint). The protection works by locking a complete col or by locking named ranges (tried both wrt this post: http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/showthread.php?t=380262&highlight=protect). However, each has a common side effect: custom views don't work properly and I get a message "Some view settings could not be applied". I've only 4 custom views which I need on a daily basis to filter data for specific purposes so would hate to lose these.

Any idea what's going on there?

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
