Is there a way to make sure that the only way a user can input data into a cell is through a userform or macro? Thanks in advance.

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.

Nothing's bulletproof, but you can hide the worksheet, protect it, hide the workbook or even Excel, forcing the user to use the userform. You can also use the Change event of the worksheet.

Just make certain that the cells in question are locked (under format) and then protect the sheet in question.

Also make sure cells that need to change are unlocked.
