I protect worksheets to prevent accidental overwriting of formulas. Then when I need to make adjustments to the sheet, I turn protection off. However, unwanted protection keeps comming back after only one cell is changed. How can I turn off protection and make it stay off till I want it back again? I'm using Excel 2003. Claude

Hi, Claude,

you might have some code active
rightclick the sheettab
select "view code"
is there anything in the sheetmodule ?

(if problem occurs on several sheets check also workbookmodule)

kind regards,
Erik

Hello Eric, You bailed me out again. I had an On_Calculate routine in the ThisWorkbook object that was turning it on repeatedly. Thanks for your help. Claude
