How would I go about allowing certain users to open a spreadsheet based on their Windows user name? I have been looking around the boards and it appears that this is possible as I have seen some code that can at least obtain the windows user name but I'm very much a beginner when it comes to the VB side of Excel.

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
It would be much more secure to assign network file permissions for the relevant users rather than trying to code something that they could bypass by disabling macros.

I agree but based on IT's load of work right now it could take several days or weeks to get that done. Maybe they will give me access to add permissions for a few hours. Probably not.
