I HAVE A YEARLY LARGE DATA WITH VARIOUS COLUMNS & DATES. I WANT TO GET QUARTERLY TOTAL & THEN ANNUAL TOTAL. wILL SUBTOTAL USEFUL ...HOW???

Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.

Do not write in capital letter - it looks like you shout.

Could you post some of your data?
SUMIF or SUMPRODUCT may work for you.

Sorry for writing in capital letters.
i have excel 2007. The video was for 2003. it did not work in 2007...group option says that section cannot be grouped.
date purchase vat oms
jan01 10000 600
jan 5 8000 300
jan9 9000
As such there is huge data in a year

just one more Q:
if the original sheet gets updated with new data then will the pivot table get automatically updated or give original result only

sorry m unable to use pivot table to summarise data quarterly. The group field button does not get enable.

How to enable the group field button to select quarterly or monthly after inserting pivot table
