Hi

I have a query in which I have created an expression as follows:
SMTValue: IIf([SMT]=2,"SMT")

I then wish to concatenate the contents of another field with the result of this expression. I am using:
NewRank: [Rank] & [SMTValue]

When I run the query, I am prompted for the SMTValue parameter. Can someone please point my mistake out to me?

Thanks!
FD

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
[SMTValue] does not get created until the query executes. You cannot reference it in your query, instead you need to repeat the expression in NewRank.
Code:
NewRank: [Rank] & IIf([SMT]=2,"SMT")
