Query Question

I have a query in Excel that gets data from an Access query. The Access query has a criteria parameter that prompts the user to enter a critera. When I run the query from Excel, it does not let me enter the critera. Instead I get an error msg "Too Few Parameters. Expected 1". Do I have to clear the parameter in the Access query and then use the filtering in Excel (Query Wizard) to get my results or is there a way to get the user prompt when running the Excel query?

You didn't post what you had for a query, are you using MSQuery or an SQl statement?if using MSQuery are you using the square brackets [] to specify user input?

I'm using MSQuery. Once I select my database in launches right into query wizard. How do I avoid the wizard?
I'm running MS Office 97 Pro with XP.
