Question about filtering values in columns

Hello everyone,

I have the A column full of names on Sheet1 of my workbook (thousands of them), and then on Sheet3 I normally input just some of these names(a couple of hundred) on column A as well. What I would like to do is to be able to hide the rows from Sheet1 that contain values on the A column that are not present in Sheet3 by running a macro. Could somebody please assist me with this issue? Thanks a lot in advance and please let me know if I left out any pertinent information.

Thanks!

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
It sounds like you just need to use advanced filter which you can do without vba/macro....

MARK858,

How would I use an advanced filter for this specific scenario? From reading the link provided, I cannot find a way in which I can set the criteria to be "if the values equal values in another sheet." I would think it has to be something like naming the list on Sheet3 and then somehow setting the criteria to that list name? Sorry if my question seems unclear! Also, if there is a simple way to do this with a vba/macro that would be even better as I could then set it to a hotkey. Thanks in advance again.

You don't need to even name the range you can click inside the List range box and select the range to be filtered, then click in the criteria range box, click the other sheet and select the cells with the criteria(just make sure the lists in both sheets have the same header and make sure that the headers are included in the selections).

If you want a macro just record your actions doing the above.
