I have 2 pieces of data--1 involving time and another involving output of water.

What I would like to do is Subtract Time 1 from Time 2 and Output 1 from Output 2 to determine the relative rate between these 2...However, my excel converts the time into some strange function.

Time 19:44 20:20
Output 40 220

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.

C1 = 20:20
B1 = 19:44

=C1-B1

Result = 0:36

Yes 0:36 is the answer for the difference in time--yet I want to perform the following formula

220/0:36--which will provide me a rate. For some reason, excel is treating 0:36 as 0.02 and giving me an absurd answer 88000. The answer should be something around 400.

Any help is appreciated....

How about 366.6667?

C2 = 220

=C2/((C1-B1)*24)

Format as General or Number
