I have a question on how I could possibly change multiple cells within the same column that contain a number to a different number.

For example, I have a list of numbers in a column. The range is about 900 cells down that are all in Row A. I want to change all of the 1980 to 1936, ect. So I want to change every 1980 in that column to 1936. I also have a multitude of other years to change but I am just using this as an example. Is this possible and if so what would be the easiest and what would the formula be in order to achieve this?

Thank you.

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Have you tried the "Replace" functionality in Excel?

Simply highlight the range you want to check, then from the Edit menu, select Replace and enter the value you want to Replace and the New value, then click "Replace All".
