Quick 2D array solution?

Hi, I'm (re)learning VBA, and how it works with and inside of Excel (mostly used some basic code in Access before), and I need to store a large portion of text from a table (dates and values, string format) in a 2 dimensional array, this is a task that will be redone every week or so, and needs to work quickly every time.

I know one way of storing item in a 2 dimensional array is to use a nested loop, and simply scroll down the rows and columns one by one, incrementing the location and the array value each time.

is there a quick and dirty way to do this? for example, if I tell you the top left corner is E4 and the lower right corner is P50. Or Am i stuck with a nested loop configuration (outer loop incrementing columns or rows, inner loop incrementing the other, and the array values respectively).

I ask, because I can't imagine this is the fastest way to do this process, and I would like to be able to do it with out fumbling with nested loops that I am sure to mess up half the time

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
DaviskevinJ,

Welcome to the MrExcel forum.

if I tell you the top left corner is E4 and the lower right corner is P50

The following code will create a Variant Array MyArray(1 To 47, 1 To 12).

Code:
Option Explicit
Sub Test()
Dim MyArray
MyArray = Range("E4:P50").Value
End Sub
