Quotation marks are deleting

I don't what happened but when I type a quotation mark " or a hyphen ' it either wipes out what I just typed or backs up the insertion point. I cannot type any code like this.

What did I do to make this happen.

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
Quote marks

I find now that it is ahhpening anywhere I type not just in excel.

Can you help?

You may have a Virus?
I have seen things like that when a Graphics card is having problems.
Did you try re-booting?

You can try:

Windows: Run
Type: scanreg /restore

Pick a recent date that your PC worked fine, this will replace your Regestry with a good working one, Note: you will be missing any updates from that time on though!

It says it cannot find scanreg when I type in scanreg /restore.

Did you try doing a Windows file search, for that file location?

It is odd that your PC is not setup to automatically go to Windows files on RUN?

You may have a bigger problem?
