is it possible to list all range names for a workbook on a worksheet?
thanks

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Hi,

YES it is :)
and it's almost plain english
Code:
Sub list_names()
Range("A1").ListNames
End Sub
TIP: check the helpfiles

kind regards,
Erik

Hi, I would be interested to use that trick, but can't make it to work
hit F3 and then ? what to do ?

best regards,
Erik

Hi erik,

A dialog box should appear if not make sure that your F keys are not lock. You should have a button to the left of the key board that say "F Lock". But again everyone keyboard is different. Here is a link below that gives that example.

Hope that helps.

thank you for explanation
no, it's not the "lock" :) I'm using function keys all the time
when checking the menu there is no "F3" next to insert/name/paste
(like you have "F1" next to Help)
using XP

anyway you learned me something, I checked the link ...
thank you :)

It works in XL2003, there is no shortcut indicator on the menu though, but F3 works.

:unsure: :oops: :unsure:
I do not have a "lock"functionkeys key, it didn't work 30 minutes ago.
Now it is working.

For the life of me, couldn't think what went wrong: probably a finger who didn't hit the right button for 10 times :rolleyes:

thanks !

Maybe you didn't have any names in the workbook. If you don't you just get a beep (Excel 2000).
