Ranges and Pivot Tables

I am using an extension called Devart to bring data from my Zoho CRM into Excel. It creates a named range of the data, but the range does not include the column headers. Nevertheless, my Pivot Tables that refer to the range still work. I was under the impression that Pivot Tables must include the name of the columns, so am wondering why they are working in this case. How would the pivot tables even know the field names without including the column header?

Also, does a refresh of one pivot table refresh all pivot tables throughout the spreadsheet? It seems to be the case, but just would like to confirm.

Thanks!
David

Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
Hi David,

If the data source is a workbook range reference, it should include the headers. If the PivotTable data source just lists a named range, what process did you use to determine that named range doesn't appear to include the header row?

Refreshing one PivotTable will refresh its PivotCache. That will cause all other PivotTables that share the same PivotCache to be refreshed. PivotTables must share the same data source to share the same PivotCache; however, not all PivotTables with the same data source will share the same PivotCache.

To check which PivotTables share a PivotCache, you can add a slicer, then check to see which other PivotTables can be connected to that slicer.
