Rank a cell value from another worksheets range of values?

Ahhh... can't wrap my mind around this one.

I have a value, ie 261 on the current worksheet.

And then I have a range of values ie:

on another worksheet "SeasonRcds" (row C).

How can I rank 261 from those values?? It would bring me great relief
The tie-breakers and stuff isn't a big deal, I just require the basic rank of 2 as the result.

Hello formulaic, welcome to MrExcel,

It should be sufficient to count the values in that range which exceed your value...and then add 1, so if you have 261 in H2 on the current sheet try

=COUNTIF(SeasonRcds!$C$2:$C$9,">"&H2)+1
