# Rank based on multiple values

##### Board Regular
I have figured out how to create a rank based on individual values but what I am trying to do is create an overall rank based on the individual ranks. I know there is RANK.AVG formula however it only gives the average for the rank rather than an actual rank. Is there anyway to get a complete average so to speak?

Example:

 Quality Rank Tracking Rank Index Rank Overall Rank 100 1 85 3 102 1 1 87 5 80.5 4 88 4 3 90 3 53 9 89 3 2 85 6 69 8 97 2 4 100 1 91.67 2 78 6 6 90 3 70 6 82 5 5

</tbody>

Hopefully the example helps show what I am looking for.

### Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.

Please explain the rankings in the second rank column and how you have arrived at the overall rankings in your example.

I don't agree with all your rankings for Tracking - how can something rank 8 or 9 out of only 6 entries?

For the overall ranking, 1 way would be to add a helper column (I used col I), multiply each category together, then rank that column...
 A B C D E F G H I 1 Quality Rank Tracking Rank Index Rank Overall Rank 2 100 1 85 2 102 1 1 867000 3 87 5 80.5 3 88 4 3 616308 4 90 3 53 6 89 3 6 424530 5 85 6 69 5 97 2 4 568905 6 100 1 91.67 1 78 6 2 715026 7 90 3 70 4 82 5 5 516600
I2=A2*C2*E2
G2=RANK(I2,I\$2:I\$7)
Both copied down

If that was not what you wanted, please explain how you would do this manually

Excel contains over 450 functions, with more added every year. That’s a huge number, so where should you start? Right here with this bundle.
