Hi All,

I have just recently discovered this forum after attempting to self resolve a ranking issue I have with Microsoft Excel.

I wanted to know if there was a way to rank values by column name?

For example, if I have entered the values below, is there a way the values in the row can be ranked by the name of the column as shown in the Desired Output column?
Test 1Test 2Desired Output
Value 110098Test 1
Value 29098Test 2

Thanks!

The easiest way would be with index and match.

Book1
ABCD
1Test 1Test 2Desired Output
2Value 110098Test 1
3Value 29098Test 2
Sheet3
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
D2:D3D2=INDEX($B$1:$C$1,MATCH(MAX(B2:C2),B2:C2,0))

Thank you for both for such a prompt response. This was exactly what I needed.
